Babarawana - Hidden beauty of the mother nature

There are so meny unseen places and natural heritages in southern region of Sri Lanka. Babarawana is one of them full of reare species and plants and also several natural water springs. It is located in a reasonable distance from singhara rain forest but has it's own beauty and peacefulness all over the village and surrounding area. There are several natural pools with full of Ice Cold water springs starting from singharaja forest. There are great spots to burn a camping fire and settle for a fresh air and natural peacefulness without second thoughts.

2.5 hours ride from Colombo but may be take little bit longer due to road condition from Baddegama to Babarawana. This is one of the best places in southern region for the hikers and also nature lovers worth to give a shot. Revomended 4 wheel drive with full gear for better entertainment.

Riverston to Hadapanagala via Pitawala Pathana

One of the best adventurous road trip for any nature lover should try out at least once in a lifetime is laid between Riverston to Laggala through Pitawala Pathana. Starting from well known SLT Tower on the top of the riverston peak and it can extend even up to Hadapanagala Wewa to see one of the largest elephant clang in Sri Lanka. They have most baby elephants in a single clang and it's really adorable to see they feed and bath in the lake early morning. There are nice small villas and cottages made for tourists lately and also can find local shelters for reasonable price if you are interested for the adventure. It's worth to give a shot if you are challenging traveler and also a good driver with skills.
